IFS International Freight Systems, based in Tilbury ON, was started by some owner-operators who had hauled steel for ICL International Cartage; after ICL had closed their steel division.
This Mack CH is run by Debro Steel from Brampton ON - spring 2003 This Kenworth T600 was ruinning on Ontario Highway 6 in Port Dover ON in August 2005 This green Peterbilt; leased to IFS was parked in Mississauga
MID AMERICA FREIGHT SYSTEMS from Ancaster ON runs Western Stars as their company tractors. - Mississauga 2004 Norris Transport from Hamilton ON was bought by the SYLVITE Group. Today it is Sylvite Transportation. This Freightliner still showed the Norris name on the trailer's tarp when I shot it in April 2004. UPDATE- Sylvite sold their steel hauling operation to the COLE INTEGRATED Company in June 2007. This Kenworth T800 runs for TAYLOR STEEL from Hamilton ON
The driver of this T800 from Trafalgar Supply of Woodstock ON is securing the load at a plant in Mississauga I didn't get the Carrier's name from this Western Star that was delivering a load of garden supplies to a Canadian Tire store in Mississauga - April 2005 This Western Star and empty stepdeck were parked in Toronto in December 2004
This Peterbilt with covered wagon trailer was in Toronto in March 2005 A Kenworth W900 from Mercer Trucking loaded with ATV's was in Toronto in August 2005 This Freightliner Coronando with loaded step deck from TKB was parked in Mississauga in July 2005

White Oak Transport of Stoney Creek ON celebrated its 40th anniversary in Sept 2006. This Volvo was seen on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Mississauga - May 2005 Here is a Freightliner Columbia from Trailwood Transport based in Alliston ON. October 2006 An International S2500 from ACE Machinery Moving was heading to the terminal - 2003
This Freightliner from BOLTON STEEL TUBE was on it's way to their Mississauga plant - 2003 Freightliner Classic from Cassidy's of Pembroke ON was laid over in Mississauga - March 2007 LP Services is a local Ontario steel hauler based in Hamilton. This Freightliner was leased on in the spring of 2002.
Moore is also a local steel hauler. This Western Star was on Cawthra Road in Mississauga. 2005 The trailer pulled by this Volvo is a flat deck with a Tautliner cover. There are two heaters on the nose; likely to control the condtions that specialty steel is hauled under.
This custom Peterbilt leased to Foreshew Trucking from North Bay Ont. was in Mississauga with a load of "sticks". - August 2007 This Freightliner Classic from Woodcock Bros was in Fort Erie ON - February 2008
This Kenworth W900 runs for Tonolli Metals, a Mississauga metals refiner. February 2008 This Freightliner Classic from Manitoba was parked near a hotel. (May 2007) Here is a Volvo from Empire Transportation based in Grimsby Ontario. (Toronto October 2007)
Volvo from IMT was deadheading through Mississauga (May 2007) This Volvo from JBE Tilt-N-Load had just dropped a machine at a construction site. This Freightliner is from McGillion Transport of Bolton ON. - June 2008
Lumber hauler CHUMWAY MOTOR EXPRESS from S Porcupine ON in Toronto - October 2008 Robert Charters sent me the following information:
"This unit is one of our owner operators who runs the Quebec /Ontario corridor. This truck was originally a company unit for a senior driver. Notice the larger than normal bunk. It is Mercedes powered and the trailer is 48' rack and tarp." Picture taken in Mississauga - November 2008.
A cabover Freightliner leased to Mercer Transport was laid over at a local motel on a cold, snowy December 2008 weekend. An International from Don Anderson Haulage based in Stouffville ON sits with a load of steel shapes waiting to be unloaded at a bridge building job. The load is both long and heavy, sitting on a five axle trombone trailer - April 2009
Here is an International and step deck from Anderson Haulage of Stouffville ON - May 2009 Koch Logistics is another Northern Ontario Lumber Hauler, based in Earlton. The Kenworth had some sort of back haul loaded when I saw it in June 2009. Empire Transportation based in Grimsby handles many special and heavy shipments. One of their Macks had a container loaded on a step deck trailer going to CP Rail's OBICO terminal where it would be loaded on a train and hauled to a seaport for export. - June 2009
While waiting at an Oakville ON Tim Hortons on an August 2009 Sunday this Western Star from Don Anderson Haulage of Stouffville ON pulled into the parking lot. An hour or so later, we saw a crew at work on the CN line with a large crane. They were disassembling one of the signal gantries. That Anderson Western Star was hauling one of the sections away. The load extended well beyond the end of the trailer.
A Kenworth W900 from ALL CANADA CRANE backed into the spot vacated by the Western Star. The CN signal forces were out.
This CN Ford F350 was one of their vehicles.
ALL CANADA CRANE had a new red Peterbilt 388 and an older black Peterbilt 379 on this job but neither was moved while we were there.
