I think the "Perfect Load" must weigh about l00 tons. Can you believe that. They look to be hemlock so it could be more. I would think the scale would run between 15 and 20 M board feet. Those are 12 foot bunks so it is a pretty good jag. The trucks only had 200 horsepower and with only a 4 and 3 they did not go much over 35 mph and most time that would be their top speed. They had water on the brakes or drums but no jake brake. Eventually they got hydrotarters on 2 of the newer trucks but that was long after these pictures were taken, in the early 40s. None of these loads had any sign of a wrapper on them. If they fell off, they fell off.
