Penn Yan was a well run upstate NY LTL carrier that operated extensively with double 40ft. trailers on the NY Thruway and was a pioneer. They originally used Cummins NH250 engines, specially tuned, to meet the minimum speeds on certain major grades. Latter they would switch to Cummins VT-903 engines for more power. Penn Yan was a major user of Brockway tractors up until they discontinued production.
They sold to Con-Way Eastern Express.

Some more photos of Penn Yan Express when they first got the Ford CL-9000's

A few things to note on these photos: The "Leased to" Penn Yan on the door. They were owned by CF and leased to Penn Yan probably while waiting for ICC approval. The CF style drivers door mirrors were eventually changed on most units to the standard style. The TT number for NY Thruway turnpike doubles is under the door. The colors on these were soon changed to red stripes and red chassis with white wheels. They then changed the name to Con-Way Eastern Express in 1985. These photos were shot in 1983 in Springfield, MA.
