Here is a Rare catch! A Former Illinois Central Gulf 48 footer, now owned by a Box Company. The photo is in Alorton IL. The ICG was formed in 1972 with the Merger of the Illinois Central Railroad and the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railway. ICG then abandoned or spun off most of the former GM&O, and in 1989, ICG went back to the old Illinois Central Name. 10 years later, Illinois Central was merged into the Canadian National Railways.
