New furniture carrier Gaines Motor Lines, Inc. from High Point or Hickory, NC at the Valley View Diner in summer 1974.
Two shots of Harris Milk Transportation IH 4200's with a non-sleeper Brockway COE behind the red 4200. The white 4200 is nick-named "Galloping Ghost" Both shots were taken at a milk processing plant on U.S. 5 in W. Springfield during different seasons in 1975. Here's a Roy Widener Motor Lines White Road Commander I hooked to an interesting looking furniture van that was stopped at the Valley View Diner along U.S. 5 in W. Springfield during summer 1974.

Warehouse in Springfield. An O/O leased to Midwest Coast Transport from Sioux Falls, SD waiting for his turn for a dock to back into at the Springfield farmers market in early 1975. Caught this Mack for Gsell Bekins in motion W. bound on the Mass Pike from my bicycle hangout location during summer 1973. These two Allied Van Lines rigs were parked beside U.S. 5 in W. Springfield in spring 1975 while their drivers layed over at one of the many motels on that stretch of highway. An O/O leased his Marmon to C & H Transportation from Dallas, TX that I was lucky to find stopped in early 1975 but I don't recognize the background or remember where I shot it at.
used to catch quite a few westbound rigs climbing the hill just west of the Connecticut River bridge and Exit 4 on the Mass Pike. On this early evening shot during summer 1974 I was overtaking this Matuzsko Farms H model Ford from N. Amherst, MA while driving Dad's 1974 Chevy Impala. This Brockway for NAVL was delivering to Westfield High School in my hometown shortly before I graduated from it in June 1975. Every once in a while a photo op would come right to me so I had to take advantage of it. Here's an ex: NAVL W Ford and an IH Transtar leased to Interstate Contract Carrier Corp. parked at that LTL motel in W. Springfield back in the summer of 1974.

A good looking but road grime covered KWCOE from Maine was at the Eastbound Ludlow service plaza on the Mass Pike in Jan. 1976. No doubt this double bunk KWCOE I shot at the Pioneer Valley Ref. Warehouse late fall 1974 was an O/O's pride and joy. Colonial Refrigerated Transportation from Birmingham, AL was a common sight in the Springfield area when I was a teen. Elliott Bros. Burlington, VT near where one of my brother's use to live. Here's a very colorful and sharp (even with the road grime) but unidentified Marmon COE that was unloading at the Springfield farmer's market in early 1975.
Caught this IH 4200 for Longmeadow Truck Leasing right out in front of their Springfield HQ in Feb. 1975. That's one pretty clean unit for the snow covered roads! The driver of this IH Emeryville leased to Wilson Freight's steel division from Cincinnati, OH wasn't all too happy that I was taking a picture of this oldie but goodie in fall 1974 at the Valley View Diner in W. Springfield and threatened to stomp on my Kodak 110 Pocket camera. Maybe he had a bad day, but I still got it and then got outta there!! A summer 1974 shot of this rather used up looking H Ford COE for Philips Trucking from Worcester, MA taken next to the Penn Central W. Springfield rail yards.
There use to be this big neat truck junkyard in Chicopee, MA that disappeared when the right of way for I-391 sent every last truck frame and fender to the crusher after construction commenced on it between I-91 & downtown Holyoke. The owner let me roam around it and snap some pictures after school in spring 1975 including this White 3000TD. Early evening sometime during summer 1973 found this White 9000 leased to Kenosha Auto Transport with a load of AMC Matador's rolling westbound on the Mass Pike past my bicycle hideout spot just E. of Exit 3.
