|I was coming back from Portland, OR on I-5 when I noticed the old Powerliner had been taken off its poles at the old abandoned truck stop in Curtin, OR. I could not resist urge to turn around and go back to see if the truck might be sitting on the ground. Much to my delight there it was sitting on the ground next to the abandond repair shop. This trucks engine transmission and differentials had been removed along time ago. The inside of the cab looked to have been a home for a BIG bird of some sort.
As you can see on the data plate this truck was equipped with a Cummins KT450. Big engines like the KTs is what these trucks were built for, 450hp back in 1977 was very respectable. The cab and frame apear to be in good shape considering what this truck has been through.
Here is something I thought was kind of ironic about my up close encounter with this old truck. According to the data plate she was built in 6/77 and I took these pictures on 6/04 27 years after she was built!
I am hoping someone could give me more information on this truck like
