Kenworth W-900B from Polar Bear Transport, a division of Midland Transport. Polar Bear was the owner-operator fleet with their own trailers. It was phased out a few years back although several company-owned reefer trailers carrying the Polar Bear logo remained in the fleet until recently. The owner of this Kenworth's owner is unknown but is from Truro Nova Scotia. |

Kenworth W-900B "Canadiana" edition tractor on with Polar Bear. "Canadiana" Kenworths were special editions that carried distinctive exterior paint styles depicting several regions in Canada. They were offered when the W-900B was brand-new in the early 80's but dropped out of production after a short time. |

A brand-new GMC Astro, not even lettered. This one would also end up on Polar Bear Transport. 97000 - series tandem reefer trailer is unusual as that numerical system would later be indicative of the 48-foot tri-axle reefer trailers. If you look towards the end of the trailer you will see a metal sign which reads "Midland Transport Group". At that time Midland was a group of several regional carriers operating with their own distinct names in the corporate colours. Eventually the "transport group" would be phased out. |

Customized headlights make this 4300 International stand out. The picture appears to have been taken at the St. John, New Brunswick terminal - run over those tracks a little too fast and you'll definitely remember where you've been. Roof-mounted beacon lights suggest it might be Titan Special Commodities division. Thomas Ritchie photo. |

| This photo shows a vintage autocar in all it's glory at a retired show truck. |
This photo shows the same tractor in somewhat more mundane circumstances - having been sold and being used as a local city tractor. Dates goes back to the mid 80's or so. |

| Here are photos of the same Autocar AT64F from Wm. Chester of New Jersey. They are Wayne's own photos taken at the Ontario Food Terminal in Toronto. From one photo to the next, it's obvious that the truck has been re-painted. The AT64F was Autocar's attempt in the mid-80's to market a premium over-the-road tractor to compete with Kenworth, Peterbilt and even it's near-cousin the Western Star. |
